About the Project
The CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL) has taken the lead in conceptualizing the Pune Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster Project, in collaboration with thirteen industry partners. This ambitious project aims to demonstrate two hydrogen production routes: the bio-route and electrolysis, with a target to produce 0.7 KTPA of green hydrogen. The produced green hydrogen will be consumed by the Fine& Specialty Chemical industries in MIDC, Kurkumbh near Pune, Maharastra.
Additionally, the project will showcase hydrogen storage using four different technologies, highlighting the versatility and potential of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source.
A key feature of the P-HVIC is the development of two commercial hydrogen-fueled vehicles: one powered by a fuel cell and the other by an internal combustion engine. The project also includes the establishment of a hydrogen dispensing station, further supporting the infrastructure needed for a robust hydrogen ecosystem.
Through these initiatives, the P-HVIC is set to advance the hydrogen ecosystem and drive forward decarbonization efforts on a commercial and industrial scale.
